'Out of his depth' Man Utd flop fighting to save career
Joshua Zirkzee is 'out of his depth' at Manchester United and fighting to save his career at the club, according to a report.
The Dutchman continues to be the subject of heated debate in Man Utd's fanbase. Signed from Bologna in the summer, Zirkzee has struggled to pay back his €42.5 million fee so far.
Prior to a recent brace against Everton, Zirkzee had not scored a goal since the opening day of the season and while it was always obvious that he was never going to be the most prolific of strikers, Man Utd certainly expected more from him.

On Thursday, Man Utd narrowly defeated Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League and Zirkzee again struggled to make any kind of tangible impact, which has been a common theme throughout this season.
Zirkzee fighting to save Man Utd career
In the wake of the match against Plzen, Zirkzee has been described as hopelessly 'out of his depth' at Man Utd in a scathing assessment of his prospects under Ruben Amorim by the Manchester Evening News.
“Zirkzee's race is already run. Amorim's system revolves around providing depth to the striker and Zirkzee is out of his depth. His style jars with Amorim's and he will be back on the bench for the derby,” journalist Samuel Luckhurst wrote.

If the Dutchman indeed ends up benched against Man City at the weekend, it will give further credence to suggestions that he could make a swift exit from Old Trafford.
Zirkzee has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A in recent weeks, with Juventus and Napoli both said to be keen on the former Bologna star. The remaining games of the festive period could therefore already prove critical for his Man Utd career.
