Manchester United players Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof are available for sale in the January transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Red Devils duo have contracts which expire at the end of the season so the club must make a sale or risk losing them on a free transfer.

The two players have struggled for regular minutes under Ruben Amorim. It's thought that United could look to move the pair on as early as next month.

Now Romano has gone on record via GiveMeSport to say that the footballers have been earmarked to leave the Old Trafford. “Eriksen and Lindelof are available for the January market, but at the moment there's still nothing concrete. For sure both are players who could be available in January.”

Both Eriksen and Lindelof started in United’s 4-3 Carabao Cup quarter-final loss to Tottenham on Thursday. But the Swede came off with an injury during the contest.

The Swedish international has had a tough season with injuries, managing just 339 minutes across nine appearances in all competitions, only four of which were starts.

Eriksen made his second outing under Amorim on Thursday, having previously started in the Portuguese manager’s debut match, which turned out to be a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last month.

Man Utd injuries

Both have previously struggled with injuries, something which is the story for a number of United players. Mason Mount recently revealed that he is ready to come back stronger following his latest blow.

In an emotional statement posted on Instagram, Mount wrote: “Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.

“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.

“I’ve said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved.”

“That is not my department,” Amorim replied. “What I can do is help Mase to teach him to play our game while he is recovering, to give him that time to think about different things.

“With Mason Mount, we are going to help him and it is really hard for him to be out so long. He is trying really hard. If they try hard, we will help them to the end.”
