CONFIRMED: Ruthless Man Utd ready to AXE Antony and Rashford
Manchester United are willing to sell Antony and Marcus Rashford in 2025 should suitable offers arrive, according to a report.
New Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim suffered his first major setback in a midweek clash with Arsenal when his side were comfortably beaten by the Gunners at the Emirates.
It was a game that hammered home the obvious: Amorim has not managed to completely transform the club's fortunes in just a few short weeks. Beyond that, it also illustrated that some of Man Utd's players simply do not meet the required standard.

Many transfers will be needed to rectify the situation and to give Amorim the tools to really get the best out of the side and be able to fully utilise his preferred system.
A major issue Man Utd will face in this undertaking, and it is the problem that will prevent them from being busy in January, is the fact that they need to pay close attention to the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Man Utd to sell big names
As transfer expert David Ornstein previously said, 'the money isn't there' for Man Utd to splash the cash in January. The club have been operating at an annual loss for several years but have continued to spend large sums in summer windows, which is making the present situation difficult.
As a result, Man Utd need to complete lucrative sales. Sky Germany, which revealed several of the club's transfer targets earlier this week, has now confirmed that several high-profile players could be sold at the right price.
Reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that €95 million flop Antony could be sold as early as January should a suitable offer arrive. The festive period is seen as his final chance to convince club bosses that he is good enough but there is already an acceptance that it would be better to part ways in 2025.

The difficult part will be to generate the kind of interest that would make it possible for the club to recoup some of their inflated outlay. In the summer, only Real Betis made a concrete, Deadline Day loan offer for the Brazilian.
In addition to Antony, Plettenberg also emphatically stated that Marcus Rashford could be sacrificed. While it would perhaps be a difficult sale from a sentimental point of view, it is almost seen as a necessary evil financially.
Rashford is one of the club's biggest earners and due to being homegrown, he could free up a massive amount of PSR room, which is why he is such an attractive contender to be sold. The reporter did not mention how much Man Utd would demand for the England international, though.
