Sunday was a day of extremes for Manchester United and Victor Osimhen.

While the former suffered another chastening defeat at the hands of a team they should be expected to beat, the latter continued his absurd run of form in front of goal.

Man Utd lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils had their chances to score multiple goals. Their finishing, however, let them down massively, as it has done so often.

Osimhen, on the other hand, has been nothing short of sensational since joining Galatasaray on loan. The Nigerian is playing like a man who is determined to show Europe's elite that they were wrong not to accept his demands in the summer.

Osimhen stars again

When he has been fit, Osimhen has been simply unplayable and this form continued against Kayserispor on Sunday, with Galatasaray running out comfortable 5-1 victors.

The 25-year-old was everywhere, working incredibly hard for the team in leading the press and, of course, taking his chances. Osimhen converted a penalty, was crucially involved in Gala's second goal and then scored the fourth with a lovely dinked finish.

It was Osimhen at his irresistible best and while the quality of opposition needs to be mentioned - Kayserispor sit 16th in the Super Lig - it was a game that hammered home just how good the Napoli loanee can be.

Man Utd have, of course, been linked with the striker and Sunday showed that they desperately need a Victor Osimhen if they want to have any hope of becoming a European powerhouse again.

The Red Devils don't have the money to pursue Osimhen in January when clubs would have to pay his €75 million release clause and an additional €6m in compensation for Galatasaray.

In the summer, however, Man Utd should have more money to spend and with Osimhen available for 'just' €75m, they would be foolish not to attempt a swoop for the Super Eagles star.
