The Rossoneri are currently in negotiations to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United with an option or obligation to buy.

But it emerged on Saturday evening that the Italian giants are also now in talks with Manchester City legend Kyle Walker.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed an earlier report from the Daily Telegraph that Milan have opened talks to explore a move for Walker as their new right back.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola released a bombshell on Saturday by revealing that Walker had asked to leave the club imminently.

“Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad and end his career”, Guardiola said.

Walker is now understood to be in talks to release himself from his contract at City so that he can join his next club on a free transfer.

Milan are on the lookout for a new right back, which has been a problem position for them this season.

Emerson Royal joined from Tottenham last summer but has struggled badly. Meanwhile, Davide Calabria is set to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

A deal for Walker could now hasten that exit six months earlier than planned.

If Milan sign both Walker and Rashford, it would take their English contingent up to five given the presence of Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham - with the latter on loan from Roma for the season.

Walker at Man City

Walker will leave Man City as a club legend after an illustrious career at the Etihad.

The 34-year-old joined City from Tottenham in 2017 and has gone on to create history.

He has won 16 trophies at the club, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

He has played 319 games for the club, scoring six goals and has been widely regarded as one of the best right backs in the history of English football.
