Arsenal STEP UP January efforts for priority target Benjamin Sesko
Arsenal recently made a new approach for top target Benjamin Sesko, according to a report.
The Gunners remain determined to add a striker to their ranks this month despite the pursuit of several options proving difficult so far. FootballTransfers has exclusively revealed that talks with long-term target Dusan Vlahovic have now completely broken down.
We also reported on Tuesday that, though terms with Matheus Cunha wouldn't be an issue, Wolves are reluctant to sanction a mid-season sale unless Arsenal were to shell out a fee in excess of €80 million, which they are not prepared to do.

There are still numerous other names under consideration, but the top target remains RB Leipzig hotshot Benjamin Sesko. Here too, however, it has been made clear that the player is not on the market this month.
Despite this, Arsenal are continuing to push in the hopes that maybe they can find a way to bring the Slovenian in before the summer.
Arsenal make new Sesko approach
At least that is according to Ben Jacobs, who reports that Arsenal have recently made a fresh approach for Sesko. Still, there has been no breakthrough and it remains an eminently difficult deal to pull off in January.
Though Leipzig are already out of the Champions League, they are keen to get back in next season and they are counting on Sesko to help them achieve that goal. RB currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga in what has been a generally disappointing season.

Even if Arsenal were to propose a monumental offer, Leipzig would find it difficult to sanction a move this late in the window as sourcing a replacement would prove tricky.
Arsenal nevertheless are trying and 'ramping up efforts' to bring in a January reinforcement, preferably Sesko. Jacobs, meanwhile, also reports that Wolves remain calm about Cunha and that his refusal to extend his contract won't do anything to change their not-for-sale stance.
