Arsenal Transfer News Today: Cunha LATEST, Sesko CONTACT, Vlahovic title CLAIM

All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours today (Wednesday January 22), including the latest on Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic and much more.
Arsenal agree personal terms with Cunha
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha, FootballTransfers has exclusively revealed.
This does not mean that the Gunners are close to landing the former Atletico Madrid star, however. According to sources, there is still a sizeable gap in valuations between Wolves and Mikel Arteta's side over the player's transfer fee. Wolves want €82m, Arsenal will only offer €53m at this point in time.
Cunha is currently in a contract standoff with his club and this has prompted Arsenal to reignite their long-standing interest in the Brazilian.
Contact with his representatives has been made and numerous sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed to FootballTransfers that personal terms are not an issue with Cunha.
Sesko contact made
Benjamin Sesko remains Arsenal's priority striker target, but Fabrizio Romano has played down the possibility of landing the RB Leipzig striker this month.
He has confirmed that Arsenal have made contact with the player, but says a deal is unlikely during the January transfer window.
"[One target is] Benjamin Sesko, because they had some contacts for Sesko in the last 10 to 15 days," he told GIVEMESPORT.
"But what I'm told is that RB Leipzig insist on their decision to keep the player at the club until the end of the season.
"So it's not going to be easy. It will take something completely crazy in terms of financials to convince Leipzig in January."

Vlahovic could fire Gunners to title
Arsenal have been told that signing Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus could help land them the Premier League title.
Former Gunners centre-back Phillip Senderos said: "Dusan Vlahovic could take Arsenal closer to the title, but Mikel Arteta has a clear idea of how he wants to play and who he wants in that nine position.
"We’ve seen Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz there, but Vlahovic is a fantastic player who has performed in the Italian league and been a success.
"It’s difficult to judge him this season, but he could certainly have a big impact in the Premier League, why not."
Arsenal have been in talks with the Serbia international forward, with FootballTransfers revealing that the Gunners have already had one bid rejected.

Exclusive: Arsenal not favourites for Gyokeres or Isak
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Swedish striker duo Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak, but neither appears to be on his way to north London as things stand.
In early December, FootballTransfers revealed that Newcastle were actually the club pushing hardest for Gyokeres and we can now report that the Magpies have held fresh talks over the 26-year-old.
The interest is driven by concerns over Alexander Isak's future, but not due to Arsenal's well-established interest in the Magpies sharpshooter. Rather, Liverpool are the ones who are best placed to sign Isak in the future.

Chelsea eye Tavares
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Chelsea have taken an interest in Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares amid uncertainty over the future of Renato Veiga. The latter has expressed a desire to leave Stamford Bridge this month and has been in talks with several clubs.
Tavares, meanwhile, has starred for Lazio out on loan and this has piqued the interest of the Blues as well as other Serie A sides. Lazio have a purchase option for the Portuguese.
At Arsenal, Tavares failed to have much of an impact and he also did not manage to leave lasting impressions during loan spells at Marseille and Nottingham Forest.

Williams not moving in January
Nico Williams remains on Arsenal's radar, but no move will materialise in the winter, according to David Ornstein. The Athletic Club winger has shown no desire to leave his boyhood club mid-season.
The Spain international has a €58 million release clause and is on a hefty wage, which has so far proved prohibitive to a transfer, but it is expected that he will field interest again in the summer.
Chelsea and Barcelona have also been linked with the 22-year-old.

Arsenal to move for Diaz?
One potential January reinforcement could be Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz, claims TBR Football. Despite his obvious talent, the Moroccan has always struggled for minutes and could finally leave for good this month.
Diaz previously impressed during a multi-year loan at AC Milan but the wealth of options at the disposal of Carlo Ancelotti means that game time has been hard to come by for the 25-year-old.
Mikel Arteta worked with Diaz during his time as an assistant at Man City.
