Cole Palmer has established himself as the crown jewel in Chelsea’s new project over the past 16 months and his €47 million price tag now looks like a bargain.

The 21-year-old had mustered just three Premier League starts during his time at Manchester City, but Chelsea’s recruitment team saw evidence of his undoubted talent and his arrival has transformed the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Palmer carried Chelsea to a European place last season and his immense trajectory has continued following the appointment of Enzo Maresca as Mauricio Pochettino’s successor.

He is now a fully-fledged England international and could soon become an indispensable player for the Three Lions under Thomas Tuchel.

Furthermore, Chelsea recently opted to extend Palmer’s deal at the club until 2033, meaning he currently has the longest contract of any player in the entire Premier League.

Despite this, speculation has linked the England star with a Chelsea exit amid reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid and his former club Man City.

Both teams have been touted as potential destinations for Palmer if Chelsea are unable to challenge for major honours in the near future, while Paris Saint-Germain have now joined the race to sign him, according to Fichajes.

The Spanish publication have revealed that PSG are eager to lodge a €200m bid for Palmer in an attempt to convince Chelsea to part ways with their talisman.

While the Blues are unlikely to entertain the idea of selling Palmer at any point over the next few years, an offer worth €200m would surely be a tempting one.

How much would it cost to sign Cole Palmer?

Palmer currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €89.4m and he is the most valuable player in world football who doesn’t currently play for a club in the Champions League.

As a result, if Chelsea are able to secure qualification for Europe’s premier club competition this year, his ETV is likely to rise even further.

Man City forward Erling Haaland is the most valuable player in world football as things stand, with the Norway international currently possessing an ETV of €149.8m.

Palmer’s ascent to stardom means he could well challenge Haaland in the future, however he is yet to prove himself on the Champions League stage, while he isn’t a confirmed starter at international level either.

Despite this, Palmer is already one of the best players in the world and Chelsea would certainly demand a club-record fee if they were to ever sell the Englishman.

Eden Hazard left Stamford Bridge to seal a dream move to Real Madrid for €115m in 2019, and given the Belgian only had one year remaining on his contract at the time, Palmer would cost an even higher fee.

Rumours that PSG are considering a €200m bid could tempt Chelsea into a sale, especially given the imminent arrivals of Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian from South America, although it’s likely the Blues would want Neymar’s world record fee of €222m to be broken in order to part ways with Palmer.
