Casadei will join Lazio for a fee of €12 million plus a 25 per cent cut of the resale.

The 22-year-old had been in talks with both Lazio and Torino but has decided to choose the former, who are currently fourth in Serie A and top of their Europa League group.

Casadei's agent Francesco Faccinetti shared a picture on his social media accounts this weekend of his arrival at Rome.

Casadei leaves Chelsea after making just 17 first-team appearances in two-and-a-half years.

Despite promising loans at Reading and Leicester, he did not manage to consistently break into the senior side and he was not given a single minute of Premier League action by Enzo Maresca this season.

Veiga to Juventus

Meanwhile, Veiga will join Juventus on loan from Chelsea.

The two clubs have agreed a deal that will see Veiga move to Turin on a dry loan until the end of the season with no option or obligation to buy.

The loan fee will be around €4.5m, with Juventus desperate to bring in another defender until the end of the season after losing both Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal to season-ending ACL injuries.

Veiga, who arrived at Chelsea in the summer for €14m from FC Basel, has played only 183 minutes of Premier League football, with this deal designed to give him valuable first-team minutes at a high level.

Chelsea could yet make moves of their own in the last week of the transfer window, with interest in Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnacho.

The Blues were in action on Saturday against Manchester City but lost 3-1 after taking the lead through Noni Madueke.
