Chelsea make offer for €50m Serie A flop
Chelsea made a loan offer for Douglas Luiz last week but Juventus rejected the bid.
That is according to Italian football journalist Ciro Venerato, who reports that Chelsea and Juventus discussed the player during negotiations that brought young defender Renato Veiga to Turin on loan until the end of the season.
Venerato revealed on Italy’s flagship football show Domenica Sportiva that Chelsea made an offer for Luiz on loan.
However, Juventus made it clear that they are only prepared to offload the Brazilian on a permanent transfer or on loan with an obligation to buy.

The Bianconeri are open to selling Luiz this month at the right price after a disastrous first half of the season.
Luiz joined Juventus from Aston Villa last summer for €50 million with high hopes having established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League.
However, he has failed to win over head coach Thiago Motta, struggling for regular minutes and suffering with injuries.

When he has played, Luiz has been widely panned for his lacklustre performances in a team that has performed well below expectations and are out of the top four.
The Brazilian is fielding interest from several clubs after failing to establish himself at Juventus.
Chelsea join Man City in Luiz chase
So far, Juventus have only received loan approaches from Luiz's suitors, which have chiefly included Man City. Pep Guardiola and company remain in the market for a replacement for Rodri, who is out for the rest of the season due to his ACL injury.
Juventus are very active in the last week of the transfer window.
On Monday, they completed the official transfer of Veiga from Chelsea on loan, while they terminated the contract of defender Danilo, who is joining Flamengo on a free transfer.
Juventus are due to sign another centre back before the transfer window, while Man City could come in with an official bid for full back Andrea Cambiaso.
The Bianconeri are also in talks to sell midfielder Nicolo Fagioli with a number of clubs, including Marseille.
