Chelsea are set for a busy end to the January transfer window, with several deals still in the works.

The Blues have been more active than initially anticipated and there may even yet be some major incomings due to injuries to key players. Primarily, however, Chelsea will be working on outgoings.

Chelsea Women seal world-record Naomi Girma deal

Chelsea Women are on the verge of making history with the signing of United States international defender Naomi Girma, who is set to become the world's first-ever women's player to cost more than $1 million.

The 24-year-old is set to arrive from NWSL side San Diego and is regarded as one of the best defenders in the women's game at present. Terms with the player have already been agreed.

Douglas Luiz approach

Chelsea Men, meanwhile, are busy looking at midfield options following injuries to Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia. One of the names under consideration is Juventus man Douglas Luiz, who is struggling for minutes.

The Brazilian is also the subject of interest from his former club Man City. According to Fabrizio Romano, both clubs have approached Juventus regarding a potential loan but so far the Italian side are only prepared to sanction a permanent exit.

Everton want Carney Chukwuemeka

The signing of a new midfielder could become an even more pressing issue when taking potential outgoings into consideration. Cesare Casadei, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka could all leave the club this month.

The latter is now also receiving interest from Everton, according to Ben Jacobs. Chukwuemeka had previously been linked with Borussia Dortmund, West Ham and BlueCo affiliate Strasbourg.

However, for Everton to be able to sign the 21-year-old, they would first have to terminate the loan of forgotten Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Chelsea open to Joao Felix exit

Jacobs also reports that Chelsea are willing to let Joao Felix leave the club this month at the right price. The Portuguese has recently been linked with AC Milan.

Romano reported earlier this week that there were numerous clubs keen on Felix, though he did not mention any names. However, judging by his comments, Chelsea have received enquiries from at least six or seven potential suitors.

Alejandro Garnacho keen on Napoli

Chelsea target Alejandro Garnacho is keen on joining Napoli, according to reports in Italy. It is claimed that Man Utd have agreed to lower their demands for the Argentina international after his representatives made it clear that he would favour a move to Italy over London.

In recent days, it has been reported that Garnacho has already agreed personal terms with the 2023 Scudetto winners. However, Chelsea held talks with Man Utd over the winger as recently as Monday, so they seemingly haven't given up on him yet.

Chelsea keep faith in Robert Sanchez

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has insisted that he will keep the faith in under fire Robert Sanchez despite his frustrating number of errors this season, with the Spaniard again guilty of a blunder against Wolves on Monday.

“You said fourth mistake? And how many times did he save us? I think more than four, so it happens, no problem,” Maresca told Sky Sports. “It happens. Mistakes happen to him, the strikers, the central defenders. No problem. Robert is doing well.”

Juventus make Renato Veiga offer

Juventus have sent a formal loan offer for Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, according to Romano. Talks between the clubs over the versatile Portugal international are set to continue in the coming days.

More sides remain in the race for Veiga, with Borussia Dortmund and at least one more unnamed team - likely Olympique de Marseille - also still interested in the wantaway defender.

Chelsea in Jhon Duran talks

Chelsea have opened talks with the agent of Jhon Duran in recent days, according to Si Phillips. However, Aston Villa remain reluctant to sell the Colombian striker.

The Birmingham club have slapped a price tag of €100m on the 20-year-old amid interest from the likes of PSG and West Ham, with the latter recently making a €67m offer that was swiftly rejected.
