Chelsea have submitted an opening offer for Deportivo La Coruna winger Yeremay Hernandez, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old has registered eight goals and three assists in 18 appearances in the second tier of Spanish football so far this season, and Chelsea are among the clubs interested in signing him during the January transfer window.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Yeremay, but Chelsea are eager to win the race for his signature as they continue searching for the best young talents in world football.

The Blues have even lodged an opening bid for the Spain U21 international, as per Relevo, and are now “insistent on signing him.”

However, Relevo have added that Yeremay will not force a transfer, while the 22-year-old wants to join a club where he is “firmly backed.”

Yeremay’s current contract at Deportivo La Coruna isn’t due to expire until 2030 and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at just over €1 million.

Chelsea want Yeremay Hernandez

Chelsea have spent €270.2 million on six new wingers since the 2022 summer transfer window, with Estevao Willian (joining this summer), Mykhailo Mudryk, Angelo Gabriel, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling all moving to Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Clearlake Capital.

Jadon Sancho has also joined the west London giants on loan and his move from Manchester United will reportedly become permanent next summer.

In addition, Tyrique George has broken into the first-team under Enzo Maresca, while Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku have both featured out wide this campaign.

However, Chelsea remain interested in bolstering their attacking unit in 2025 and Yeremay has been identified as a key transfer target amid Mudryk’s provisional suspension for a positive drugs test.
