OFFICIAL: Erling Haaland signs HISTORIC Man City contract
Erling Haaland has signed a lucrative new contract with Manchester City that will effectively commit the remainder of his top-level career to the Etihad Stadium outfit.
Haaland’s future has regularly been questioned since he moved to Pep Guardiola’s side, but the Norway international has ended those doubts by signing a deal that will run until June 2034.
Following confirmation of his new long-term contract, Haaland told the Man City website: "I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great Club.

“Manchester City is a special Club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody.
“I also want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the Club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years. They have made this such a special place to be and now I am City no matter what.
“I want to keep developing, keep working to get better and look to do my best to try and help us achieve more success going forward."

Real Madrid and Barcelona had both been linked with potential moves for the 24-year-old star, whose future was claimed to be tied to that of manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola recently committed himself to the club by signing a two-year extension that runs until 2027, but Haaland has extended his Man City stay long beyond that point.
To further show his commitment to the cause, David Ornstein has revealed that Haaland has elected to forego any release clauses that were in his previous deal.
The value of Erling Haaland’s new Manchester City contract has not yet been revealed, but The Athletic claims “this is understood to be among the most lucrative sporting contracts ever”.
Man City’s greatest January?
The news comes at an ideal time for the Cityzens, who had been going through their rockiest period under the guidance of Guardiola, who took command of the club in 2016.
Away from the field, meanwhile, Haaland’s commitment to the Manchester side should ease any fears that fans have over the 115 financial charges that the Premier League champions have hanging over them.
On top of this, City are set to announce the signings of at least three new players, with Abdukodir Khusanov (Lens), Vitor Reis (Palmeiras) and Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt) all set to arrive at the club in a historic January that could go down as one of the Cityzens’ best months ever.
