Romano announces Amorim’s latest Man Utd victim
Fabrizio Romano has announced that Manchester United are open to receiving offers for another of their first-team stars, with Tyrell Malacia now being pushed towards the exit door.
United are seeking to overhaul their squad, and while the process promises to take at least two transfer windows, Malacia joins the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Christian Eriksen as players they are actively willing to listen to offers to.
Romano took to X to announce the news, but he also confirmed that the Netherlands international will not be going to Serie A side Como, who have been linked with several major stars this January, including Rashford.
“Tyrell Malacia could leave Man United now in case of good proposal, even on initial loan with buy clause… but he’s not a target for Italian side Como, no talks despite reports,” Romano tweeted.

What happened to Tyrell Malacia at Man Utd?
Malacia joined United in a €15 million deal from Feyenoord in July 2022, with the Red Devils working hard to complete a hijack to sign him ahead of Ligue 1 side Lyon.
While the Old Trafford club were clearly determined to add the 25-year-old to their ranks, Malacia has struggled to show his best level with the Premier League outfit. He has been plagued with injury issues and has made only 44 appearances – 33 starts – during his stay at the club.

New head coach Ruben Amorim is actively seeking reinforcements in the left-back area and is close to adding 17-year-old Diego Leon as his first signing since joining the Old Trafford side. PSG’s Nuno Mendes is also on the shortlist of the Portuguese in that area of the squad while the Red Devils have also been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell.
Malacia’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) hit a high of €21.3m during his time at Man Utd but has since sunk back to €11.2m amid his fitness struggles.
