Antony set for Real Betis

Man Utd winger Antony is set to leave Old Trafford and Romano says the Old Trafford club will be active in the market to replace the Real Betis-bound winger.

“Antony is on the verge of leaving Manchester United. The ‘here we go’ is coming soon, but he will leave the club to join Real Betis. There are just some details of the loan deal to sort. It will not include a buy option,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“The same club wanted to sign him at the end of the summer transfer window, when they had a bid rejected at the end of August. Now Ruben Amorim and Antony himself are ready to give the green light. They just need to finalise the details of this deal in terms of the financial side and Antony will go to Betis. Man Utd will cover part of the salary.

“It means Man Utd will be active on the market in that position in the next few days.

“Tyrell Malacia is also likely to leave. We’ve had reports on him going to Como – completely fake – but he can still leave.”

Marcus Rashford transfer latest

Romano reiterated the stance that United have over Marcus Rashford.

“Rashford is never with the Manchester United squad. Once again against Brighton, he wasn’t even on the bench,” he pointed out. “Rashford is still expected to leave. There are two weeks to go but AC Milan are no longer in the race because they decided to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City, they’re completing that agreement.

“Two clubs remain in the race at the moment. One is Borussia Dortmund. They want Rashford and need wingers. But also Barcelona. Rashford was offered the chance to join Barcelona. Now more contacts are expected but it really depends on what happens with Ansu Fati’s exit and the loan deal conditions.”

Premier League giants chase Gittens

Chelsea and Liverpool are both tracking Borussia Dortmund attacker Jamie Gittens, Romano says. A deal might be difficult to do in January, but his message is not to rule it out just yet.

“There is strong interest in Jamie Gittens,” Romano revealed.

“There are two clubs are closely monitoring Gittens from the Premier League. One is Chelsea and the other is Liverpool. They’ve sent their scouts several times to follow him.

“The expectation is that to sign Gittens in January, in the next 15 days, will be tough, very, very complicated. Dortmund consider Gittens a crucial part of their project.

“But in case something crazy happens, remember that Chelsea and Liverpool are both monitoring him. Chelsea have already made contact to ask about the situation of the player. Liverpool are scouting him and have special attention on Gitten.”

Cunha contract stuck, Arsenal ready to pounce

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has not signed his contract extension with the club, keeping the hopes of several watching club that the Brazilian might be lured away from Molineux. Arsenal are particularly hot on the case.

“For Matheus Cunha, it’s been a special season, one of the best players in the Premier League in his position,” Romano said. “A few weeks ago, we said that he was on the verge of signing a new deal with Wolves and staying at the club. What we can say today, is that the contract is not signed.

“On one side, Wolves are pushing to sign the contract. On the other, there are big clubs pushing to sign him.

“We know he’s always been of interest to Arsenal and we know several clubs are following players in that position, quality players who can play several positions up front. We know he’s been on Arsenal’s list for a long time, let’s see if other clubs will try to sign him.”

Cherki a potential January bargain

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Lyon star Rayan Cherki, and Romano has confirmed that the player might be available at a bargain fee.

“We can confirm that Rayan Cherki’s exit agreement. There’s a chance of him leaving Lyon in January due to the club’s financial situation for €22.5 million,” Romano said. “There are clubs interested in Germany, Italy and England. There’s a big market for Cherki. But we have to see what the player wants to do and what kind of proposals will arrive. The talent and potential of the player is top.”

Huijsen one to watch

Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen might not be on the move during January, but Romano says to keep an eye on the Spain U21 international ahead of the summer.

“I can guarantee to you that all the big clubs in England are keeping a close eye on the performances of Dean Huijsen,” Romano said. “Bournemouth don’t want to sell him in January, they’re closing the doors on him. But we’ll talk a lot about him in the summer because there are top clubs in England closely monitoring the excellent performances of him.”
