Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Man Utd GUARANTEE, Man City contact SPECIAL talent, Olmo LATEST
Football transfer news reporter has given the latest updates from the January window, with big news coming for Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona.
Amad Diallo contract guaranteed
Romano has confirmed that Amad Diallo will soon sign a new contract with Manchester United, just as head coach Ruben Amorim promised in his Friday press conference.
“Amad Diallo is signing a new deal at Man Utd. There’s just some final details being discussed with his agents. It’s almost there and has been since December. I can guarantee that Amad will sign a new contract with Manchester United. He’s very happy with Amorim and he’s a crucial player,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
“United are not going to take the option of extending Amad’s deal in this case. They’re going to give him a new contract with a higher salary and it’s been agreed with the players.”
Serie A interest in Maguire
United, meanwhile, moved to fight off interest from Serie A as they took up the option to extend Harry Maguire’s contract by an additional year.
Romano confirmed: "There was some interest from Italy in Harry Maguire. Some clubs were exploring the possibility of signing him for free in the summer but he is staying at Man Utd at least for now."
Marcus Rashford: Romano reveals all
Rashford is a player who could leave Old Trafford this January – but Romano says that it won’t be to Saudi Arabia. Instead, the attacker is focused on staying in Europe.
“Rashford will not be in the squad to face Liverpool because he’s ill. He’s not able to travel and to play. But the situation between Man Utd and the player is still not resolved,” he said.
“The relationship between Amorim and Rashford remains not that easy over performances in training and that sort of thing. So he can still leave the club.
“Marcus Rashford, as of today, has of no interest in considering options from Saudi. But let’s see what happens in the next weeks.
“He believes European football is the perfect stage for him, despite some interest from Saudi. There are clubs interested in this possibility, but he’s not opening the door to that option.”

Man City’s transfer priority
Manchester City have earmarked Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov as a player they want in January.
“Keep an eye on Khusanov. He’s a centre-back playing for Lens in Ligue 1 doing very well,” Romano said. “He’s a special talent.
“But it’s not only Manchester City who want him. My understanding, is that Pep Guardiola, have this player Khusanov as one of the big names for the January transfer window. Some contacts have already started.
“Lens know that Man City are interested but there are others around Europe – top, top clubs – also interested in the player. So we’ll see how City will move but they consider Khusanov as a serious option for January.”
De Bruyne exit a concrete possibility
Romano also dropped bombshell news about Kevin De Bruyne, who could leave Man City in the summer.
“Today once again Pep Guardiola said that Man City will decide what they want to do with Kevin De Bruyne. His contract expires in the summer. My understanding is that there is a concrete possibility of leaving Man City as a free agent and to try a new chapter abroad. It’s being discussed. It’s not for January but for the summer when his contract is up,” Romano said.
Dani Olmo transfer stance confirmed
Romano spoke to Dani Olmo’s agent Andy Barra over the future of the player, whose troubles at Barcelona threaten to leave the club up to €168 million out of pocket.
Olmo has not been given the green light to be registered for the second half of the season by LaLiga, leading to reports that he could leave on a free transfer for the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City.
Barra, however, has claimed that Olmo has no intention of abandoning the cash-strapped Camp Nou side.
In an interview with Romano for GiveMeSport, he said: “It’s a stressful situation for Dani as it would be for any other player. But he’s a great player and person, he’s trying to be calm.
“Of course, Dani is a winner and he loves to play the games, not to watch them!
“We are not negotiating with any club,” Bara confirmed. “Dani is a Barcelona player and he wants to be a Barcelona player. He has made a big effort in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his desire for a long time.
“Barcelona is the first and last option! Dani, his father, family, me, we’re not thinking about other options.”
