Aston Villa's income of €110.7m means that they made €400,000 more than second-placed side FC Porto, who also offloaded a star player to Saudi Arabia. Galeno joined Al-Ahli for €50m on Saudi Deadline Day, while Nico Gonzalez moved to Man City for €60m. Fran Navarro headed to Braga on loan for a €300,000 fee.

Eintracht Frankfurt occupy third place as they notably sold Omar Marmoush to Man City for an initial €75 million, while they also offloaded Jens Petter Hauge to Bodo/Glimt for €3.5m.

They are ahead of Napoli, who are fourth courtesy of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s €70m move to Paris Saint-Germain and the €1m loan fee paid by Fiorentina to sign Michael Folorunsho on a temporary deal until the end of the campaign.
