Kvaratskhelia BOMBSHELL: Liverpool & Chelsea given transfer hope

Paris Saint-Germain are currently unable to fund a move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to sensational reports in France.

The Georgia international has been heavily linked with a Napoli exit during the January transfer window and talk of a mid-season departure has ramped up over the past few days.

PSG are in pole position to sign Kvaratskhelia, as they look to bolster Luis Enrique’s attacking options, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also monitoring his situation in Italy.

However, the Ligue 1 giants currently can’t afford to match Napoli’s asking price of €80 million, according to French publication RMC Sport.

PSG will need to raise funds for Kvaratskhelia through sales, with Randal Kolo Muani among the players set to depart amid his struggles this campaign. Milan Skriniar could also be offloaded and he may be included in a deal to bring Kvaratskhelia to the Parc des Princes this month.

The Georgia winger is interested in joining PSG before the January window shuts, but the Ligue 1 giants aren’t able to fund a deal as things stand, which could help the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool hijack his proposed move to the French capital.

TEAMtalk have revealed that Liverpool could use Federico Chiesa in a player-plus-cash swap deal for Kvaratskhelia, while Chelsea are eyeing his situation as they consider signing a new forward amid Mykhailo Mudryk’s current provisional suspension.

What has been said?

Liverpool boss Arne Slot was eager to talk down rumours of a January move for Kvaratskhelia during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds’ FA Cup clash against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

“When you said yourself 'linked with', I was thinking: 'Which club is he going to say now?' But you mean as a club we are linked with Kvaratskhelia,” Slot told reporters.

“What I make of that is that this is January and I think I said it after the West Ham United game [to journalists], please don't disappoint me, please come up with all these players and all these clubs that are in the interest of us.
