And now he is being linked with a bid for an English Premier League institution as the Merseyside giants are apparently very much on his radar.

Musk Liverpool interest CONFIRMED, by his father

Musk's father Errol confirmed just that when speaking to the Times Radio in news guaranteed to cause shockwaves in the vicinity of Anfield.

Asked whether his son was about to launch a bid, he answered: “I can't comment on that, they'll raise the price," before going on to confirm there is interest.

“Oh yes, [he has expressed a desire], but that doesn't mean he's buying it," he said.

When quizzed further if buying the club was 'in his son's sights', the father said:

“He would like to yes, obviously. Anybody would want to - so would I!"

"His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family."

"So, we are attached to Liverpool you know..."

Musk, as his father says, has roots back in the city of Liverpool with his grandmother, Cora, having been born in the city.

In his younger days, Musk would visit Liverpool during the summers from South Africa, where Elon's family moved and where he was born.

So while this story might at first glance appear crazy, maybe not so much. We now know there is a long-standing desire, and obviously the finance.

Would current owners John Henry and FSG sell? Maybe we'll get to find out soon.
