Liverpool consider HUGE approach to beat Man Utd and Chelsea to Salah replacement
Liverpool could make a move for Khvicha Kvartaskhelia this month if Napoli decide to cash in on their talismanic forward, with a host of Premier League rivals also monitoring the situation.
Kvaratskhelia has been a standout performer for Napoli since his arrival in 2022 but the Georgian international has two years remaining on his contract, leading to the possibility of his exit in the near future.
Paris Saint-Germain are understood to be leading the race for Kvaratskehlia and Chelsea have also been linked, while there have also been reports of a swap deal with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford.
However, according to The Athletic, Liverpool are ‘attentive’ to the situation despite having the likes of Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz and summer signing Federico Chiesa who can all play on the left wing.
Consequently, it may take a significant departure before Liverpool can make an approach for Kvaratskhelia, irrespective of the Serie A side’s interest in Chiesa.
Napoli are said to be in no rush to cash in on their star man but an offer of around €80 million could tempt them into a sale.
Liverpool could view ‘Kvaradona’ as Salah replacement
Liverpool could be preparing for the eventual departure of Mohamed Salah this summer, with the Egyptian still yet to agree on an extension to his contract which will expire at the end of the season.
While ‘Kvaradona’ plays on the left, the prospect of signing one of Europe’s top young talents could prove tempting and the arrival of Georgian teammate Giorgi Mamardashvili to Anfield may also convince the player of a move.
Napoli are aiming to avoid a situation like Victor Oshimhen’s, which saw the Italians reject big money offers for the Nigerian only for his contract to wind down and the market to dry up soon after.
Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Kvaratskhelia but it is unlikely the Magpies will make a move or be able to overtake the power of teams such as Liverpool, PSG and Chelsea.
