The Uruguayan forward has really struggled to make a mark in a Liverpool shirt over the last few years. Arriving with a lot of promise, he has continued to fall down the pecking order at Anfield and it's clear he is not a first choice under Arne Slot.

For that reason, Liverpool are prepared to move on from Nunez and are open to selling the striker either in the January or the summer transfer window. And there's one ambitious club who is ready to make a momentous move for the Liverpool forward.

Now, Anfield Watch can reveal that one of those clubs is Al-Hilal. The Saudi side are set to compete in the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup at the end of this season.

In the meantime, they are looking to offload their star player, Neymar, and make new acquisitions to bolster their options. One of those options that is seriously under consideration at Al-Hilal at the moment is Darwin Nunez.

Why Al Hilal are ready to make a move for Darwin Nunez

Al-Hilal really admire the Uruguayan and view his transfer as a momentous one in their bid to raise their profile. Considering Nunez is still very much in his prime years this would be a huge coup for the Saudi side and that is why they are prepared to make a move.

While Nunez has struggled at Liverpool, it is believed a fresh new environment could reignite his career and with the Saudi Pro League being away from the spotlight, Nunez would benefit from the lack of scrutiny.

Al-Hilal's current manager is also Jorge Jesus, who is a huge fan of Nunez, having worked with him at Benfica. Under Jesus, Nunez scored 32 goals and registered 14 assists in just 66 games.

He is a player who suits Al-Hilal's quick counter-attacking style of play and having already flourished once under Jesus, the club are optimistic he could do it again.

Al-Hilal are also confident he could come in straight away and give the club a massive boost in their efforts to win the Club World Cup.
