Milos Kerkez took the wild step of making a Liverpool transfer claim right on camera on Friday and it sent Reds fans into a January window frenzy. Not for the right reasons.

It's no secret that the Anfield giants want to sign the hugely talented Hungarian full-back - who currently plies his trade with Premier League rival Bournemouth.

There have been reports floating about for a few months now and Liverpool kickstarted talks for the player in 2024.

The only big proble with all of this? Kerkez, though, might have his eyes on one club: Manchester United.

He's a boyhood Red Devils fan and will be hoping to go there. Whether they can afford to buy him, however, is another thing entirely with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS brains trust trying to stay within PSR regulations.

But while that's an uncertainty, it seems one thing is for sure when it comes to Kerkez. He's given a bizarre statement on moving to Liverpool.

Kerkez makes Liverpool transfer claim during live stream

Kerkez put up a YouTube stream this week where he talked to fans. They threw questions and comments his way, he gave responses. For the most part it was normal YouTube content.

But what wasn't normal was how adamant Kerekz was that he wouldn't be moving to Liverpool. Fans were throwing up the usual 'come to Liverpool stuff' that you always get on things like this but the Hungarian actually responded to it.

"Come to Liverpool," said one message and Kerkez repeated it before repeating the next one, too: "Stay on the South coast!"

(53 minutes in the video below)

"Yes, yes," he responded to that. "I will not go to Liverpool. For everybody listening, I will not go to Liverpool."

So, bad news for Liverpool fans out there hoping Kerkez could be moving to Merseyside any time soon.

Why would Liverpool want Milos Kerkez?

It's no secret why they'd be after him. Kerkez has been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League this season in a high-flying Bournemouth team.

That would get Liverpool interested anyway - the fact he's only 21 years old makes him a very exciting signing. He's one that the Reds will likely push for, but they won't be the only ones.
