Romano drops Amad bomb: Signing date of new Man Utd deal revealed
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo will extend his contract on Thursday, January 9, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ivorian winger has been one of the rare positives of what has otherwise been a wretched season for Man Utd. After struggling to break into Erik ten Hag's team last term following a lengthy battle with injury, he started the current campaign as a key player.
However, Ten Hag nevertheless bizarrely decided to eventually drop Amad and this reportedly caused consternation in the dressing room and influenced his eventual sacking.

New boss Ruben Amorim has brought the 22-year-old back into the fold and Diallo has been repaying the faith handsomely despite the club's continued struggles even under the 39-year-old tactician.
Diallo's application and offensive output have made him all but undroppable and he confirmed his newfound importance with a crucial goal against Liverpool on Sunday.
Amad to sign new deal imminently
However, there has been an elephant in the room: his contract. Diallo's deal expires in the summer and he is currently free to negotiate a pre-contract with interested clubs outside England.
Luckily for Man Utd, the 22-year-old has shown no inclination to do so as he feels content at Old Trafford and is determined to stay long-term. Talks over a new deal have been ongoing since the summer and they are now set to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Amad will officially put pen to paper on Thursday, January 9, and extend his stay until 2030. Contrary to previous reporting, his fresh terms will not include the option for an additional season.
Amad is set for a significant pay rise to reflect his growing importance and to ward off any potential suitors. Romano reveals that the youngster has received approaches from two 'top clubs' this month, but he never gave the offers any thought.
