Man Utd trying to HIJACK Tel deal despite €60m agreement
Manchester United remain locked in talks with Bayern Munich in the hopes of hijacking Mathys Tel's proposed move to Tottenham, according to German media.
Spurs reached an agreement with Bayern on Thursday after showing themselves willing to pay a whopping €60 million to sign the young Frenchman permanently this month.
Due to their desperate personnel situation, Tottenham are ready to break the bank to bring in reinforcements, although their deal to sign Tel is not yet under wraps.

Despite the agreement with Bayern, the player has yet to give the green light to the transfer. According to Sky Germany, that is because Tel is legitimately unsure as to what to do.
The 19-year-old would ultimately prefer a loan departure as he still harbours hopes of making it at Bayern in the future as the club showed a lot of faith in him, signing him for €20m after he had only just broken through at Stade Rennais.
Man Utd remain in Tel talks
The fact that Tel is reluctant to leave permanently has emboldened Man Utd to continue their contact with Bayern as their intention from the start has been to only sign the teenager on an initial loan.
According to the above-mentioned outlet, Man Utd initiated fresh talks, including with Tel's agent, on Thursday even after news had broken of the agreement with Tottenham.

The Red Devils remain hopeful that they can convince the youngster to snub Spurs and head to Old Trafford instead. Tel wants assurances of game time, so it will be interesting to see what his final decision will be.
The 19-year-old is a No.9 by trade but has often been forced to play out wide at Bayern due to Harry Kane. At Tottenham, he would have to compete with the currently injured Dominic Solanke and Richarlison, while Man Utd have the misfiring Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as their options.
