Manchester United are considering sacking Ruben Amorim and have drawn up a three man shortlist to replace him.

That is according to Fichajes, who report that Amorim is very much at risk of the sack at Old Trafford.

While Fichajes report that INEOS still plan to keep the 40-year-old until the end of the season, they could pull the trigger before then if the disastrous results continue.

“If a disaster occurs that forces drastic measures to be taken before time”, United could sack Amorim before the end of May, report Fichajes.

Either way, Fichajes claims that United have drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace Amorim.

They are Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel, and Mauricio Pochettino.

The first two managers would appear to be difficult to obtain.

Zidane has long stated that he does not intend to manage in England and he is believed to be waiting for Didier Deschamps to leave his France position in order to take that job after the 2026 World Cup.

Tuchel only started his job as England national team manager last month, despite being considered for the Man Utd post last summer.

Pochettino also would not be an easy appointment as he is the manager of the United States ahead of their own World Cup next year.

Amorim is under increased pressure at United after a disastrous first three months at the club.

He has a win rate of just 43 per cent - one of the worst in the club's history - and has overseen United dropping to 15th in the Premier League table.

As a result, there are increasing calls for Amorim to be sacked by Man Utd fans and pundits.

On Sunday, United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in London to continue their dismal run of form.
