Fabrizio Romano provides Dorgu update

Fabrizio Romano says that Manchester United are in the process of launching another transfer bid to secure the signing of Lecce star Patrick Dorgu.

Man Utd had a €27 million bid for Dorgu knocked back by Lecce earlier this week and as head coach Ruben Amorim tries to address the long-standing issue the Red Devils face on the left side of his defence, another offer is set to be made for the Denmark international.

Romano has revealed the state of play, with United set to reopen talks with Lecce over a deal.

“Understand Manchester United are preparing new proposal to Lecce for Patrick Dorgu,” he tweeted. “Not expected to reach requested €40m price tag yet but Man United will try to advance after €27m opening proposal turned down.

“Dorgu, keen on the move; no issues on potential contract.”

Chelsea make formal offer for Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho could leave Man Utd this month after Chelsea reportedly formalised their approach for the Argentine wonderkid.

Napoli appear to be giving Chelsea a clear run at Garnacho, with their €50 million offer turned down by United and the Italian side now in talks over Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi.

United are thought to be holding out for around €70m for Garnacho but Chelsea are hoping for a deal closer to €60m.

The ball now appears to be in United’s court as Chelsea await a response to their offer, with both teams having been in contact over the last few days.

Man Utd in Heaven

Arsenal could be set for another youngster ready to leave the club to move to Manchester United after Fabrizio Romano revealed interest in Gunners youngster Ayden Heaven.

Chido Obi-Martin left Arsenal for United during the summer and another highly-rated wonderkid could follow suit, with Heaven having made his debut for the Gunners this season in the EFL Cup against Preston.

The 18-year-old has yet to pen professional terms with Arsenal and United have now made contact according to Fabrizio Romano, with Frankfurt and Barcelona also interested.

Man Utd miss out on Garnacho replacement

Manchester United have seen their hopes of a bargain replacement for Garnacho dashed after Ipswich Town beat them to the signature of Julio Enciso on loan from Brighton.

Garnacho is likely to be pushed towards an exit this month and United had considered a move for Enciso as a potential low-cost replacement but the youngster opted against it.

Multiple reports have claimed that United made an approach but Enciso felt he would get more game time at Ipswich.

United are also believed to have acted too late to make a real impact on the deal, with the player already in advanced talks with Ipswich prior to Ruben Amorim’s approach.

Man Utd rejected Khusanov transfer

Manchester United could have had new Man City signing Abdukodir Khusanov for a bargain price in 2023 but the club opted against pursuing the €40m man according to the player’s agent.

Gairat Khasbiullin told Russian outlet Championat: “The first interested club was Manchester United. In May 2023, United scout Nicolas Cinalli was in Argentina for the U20 World Cup.

“After the second match of Uzbekistan, he found my contact and wanted to meet me. What did he tell me? That Khusanov has the 'Manchester United DNA.' That's when I realised he would end up at a big club.

“Why didn't it work with Manchester United? The scout made a detailed report, but head coach Ten Hag said he was NOT quite ready to help the team at that time.

“We recently corresponded with this Manchester United scout. He congratulated us on his transfer to City but regretted that the player did not end up at United.”
