Victor Osimhen swap chance

The door has been opened for Manchester United to negotiate a swap deal with Napoli for striker Victor Osimhen.

Antonio Conte, the manager of the Serie A club, is targeting a move for Man Utd outcast Marcus Rashford, which raises the interesting possibility of Osimhen moving in the opposite direction.

The Sun indicates that Napoli are eager to snap up Rashford, who has already rejected the opportunity of moving to Saudi Arabia.

Around €6m is required to sever Osimhen’s loan with Galatasaray, but that could be a manageable hurdle if sending Rashford to Naples eats into enough of the Nigerian’s transfer fee.

Napoli have already signed Scott McTominay from Man Utd recently, with the Scotland international lighting up Serie A with his performances since his transfer to Italy.

Double swoop for Porto star dubbed ‘new Bruno Fernandes’

Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim is ready to raid the Portuguese league – but not Sporting CP – this January, according to CaughtOffside.

Amorim’s eye has been caught by Samu Aghehowa (previously known as Omorodion) and Rodrigo Mora, who has been likened to Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes.

Aghehowa came close to moving to Chelsea in the summer only for the move to breakdown at the last. Signed from Atletico Madrid for just €15m - the Blues were going to pay around €40m - the striker has thrived in Portugal, scoring 18 goals in 21.

Meanwhile, Mora is a 17-year-old wonderkid who acts as a playmaker. He could only hook up with United in the summer once he has turned 18.

Olmo makes transfer stance clear

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo could become a free agent if the Blaugrana’s attempts to re-register him with LaLiga fail.

Man Utd are one of the teams tracking the former RB Leipzig player, but his agent Andy Bara has played down the possibility of any immediate deal.

“It’s a stressful situation for Dani as it would be for any other player. But he’s a great player and person, he’s trying to be calm,” he told GiveMeSport.

“Of course, Dani is a winner and he loves to play the games, not to watch them. We are not negotiating with any club.

“Dani is a Barcelona player and he wants to be a Barcelona player. He has made a big effort in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his desire for a long time. Barcelona is the first and last option. Dani, his father, family, me, we’re not thinking about other options.”

Harry Maguire contract extension triggered

Harry Maguire’s additional one-year option in his contract has been triggered, Amorim has confirmed.

Although the centre-back is not thought to be in the long-term plans of the head coach, the position of the club is such that they cannot afford to see the England international depart, while his recent form has also been impressive.

I spoke with Harry this morning and I told him he has to improve on the pitch, we need him a lot.
- Ruben Amorim

Amorim told the media: “Amad is near, Harry Maguire we are going to trigger our option.

“I spoke with Harry this morning and I told him he has to improve on the pitch, we need him a lot.

“Also, he has to improve as a leader. We all know the situation that he had here but we need him a lot in this moment, so we are going to trigger, happily, the option for him.

“When you look at our team we are starving for leaders on the pitch. He is a leader, he has to improve that part, he has to improve his game, so we are happy to continue.”

Van Nistelrooy plots Man Utd raid

Former Manchester United interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is getting ready to return to Old Trafford to snap youngster Harry Amass up on loan for Leicester City, rumours claim.

While Amass was expected to go to the Championship, the Foxes have stepped up their interest, the Daily Mail reports.

Leicester, however, already have Odsonne Edouard and Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Premier League side so need to clear a space in their roster for the 17-year-old.

Bayindir wants Man Utd stay

Man Utd second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has confirmed that he wants to stay at the club via has agent.

There had been rumours that he was braced to depart the club during the transfer window, but this has been rejected.

Speaking to Sports Digitale, Sefa Seyrek said: "There were offers from many European clubs and the Premier League for Altay at the beginning of the season.

"There are currently clubs that are interested, but Altay wants to stay and play for Man United. The club definitely does not want to let Altay go."
