Manchester United are in desperate need of reinforcements this month.

However, the Red Devils' lack of available funds, paired with the fact that the club are said to be 'creaking under debt,' means that significant sacrifices will have to be made first.

Kolo Muani offered

The Transfers Podcast understands that Randal Kolo Muani has been offered to Man Utd and other suitors by his agent. However, so far PSG have not engaged in any direct transfer talks for the out-of-favour forward.

The French giants would favour a permanent transfer but acknowledge that this could prove difficult in January, meaning that a loan with an obligation to buy could be the preferred formula.

This could play into Man Utd's hands given their current lack of funds. However, rumours of a potential swap deal with Marcus Rashford are being played down due to PSG having moved on from their historic interest in the England international.

Diallo to sign new deal this week

According to Fabrizio Romano, Amad Diallo is set to sign his new Man Utd contract as early as this week. The Ivorian is currently free to negotiate with interested clubs outside England due to his deal being up in the summer, but he has so far refrained from doing so.

Man Utd are desperate to keep the young winger and the player himself has no intention to depart. Contract talks have been ongoing since the summer and are now set to come to a satisfactory conclusion shortly.

Mainoo latest

Prior to Man Utd's game with Liverpool, David Ornstein dropped a bombshell, claiming that academy stars Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are no longer considered untouchable and may be sold for pure profit.

The Athletic has since doubled down on this assertion, although Fabrizio Romano and other sources assure that nothing is imminent and that Man Utd are not actively planning to sell the midfield wonderkid or the exciting winger.

Other outlets have, however, jumped onto this claim, with the Daily Mail reporting that Chelsea would lead the charge for Mainoo's signature should he become available, while the MEN reports that contract talks have hit an impasse.

However, respected journalist Henry Winter insists that these exit rumours may all be part of a ploy to exert pressure on Man Utd to get their ducks in a row and get on with the negotiations over fresh terms.

Left-back blows

Man Utd have been dealt two blows in their pursuit of a new left-back, with news coming out of Italy that Theo Hernandez is on the verge of extending his AC Milan contract, while TEAMtalk claims that Milos Kerkez is unavailable this month.

Bournemouth are unwilling to lose their star defender and have slapped a price tag of around €50 million on his head, which means that Man Utd will be unable to sign him this month.

Man Utd open to Rashford loan

According to Ben Jacobs, Man Utd are open to a straight loan of Marcus Rashford and the club are aware that his brother and agent Dwaine Maynard is talking to clubs, as previously revealed by FootballTransfers.

Rashford is said to be open to playing abroad amid talks with Milan and interest from Dortmund and Juventus. Man Utd would demand around €50m in the event of a permanent move, while any potential loan could also include an option to buy the 27-year-old.

Nevertheless, the possibility of Rashford staying at Man Utd still can't be entirely ruled out.
