Man Utd 'STEP UP' pursuit of wonderkid Tyler Dibling

Manchester United are getting serious about their pursuit of Southampton wonderkid Tyler Dibling, according to a report.

The 18-year-old has been one of the surprise performers of the current Premier League season. While Southampton have been hugely disappointing, Dibling has been a rare positive.

The right winger has been very entertaining to watch with his fearless dribbles and youthful exuberance. Of course, at his young age, he is far from the finished product, but it is entirely unsurprising that clubs from around Europe are watching his development.

He previously had a very brief stint at Chelsea but returned to Southampton after failing to settle in West London and it appears to be only a matter of time before he departs the South Coast club again.

In recent days, reports in Germany have claimed that RB Leipzig have begun taking a very serious interest in the wonderkid, although a move to the Bundesliga seems unlikely at this stage due to his price.

Man Utd want Dibling

According to CaughtOffside, Man Utd have now also started stepping up their interest in Dibling. The Red Devils have been linked with the 18-year-old for a few months and are now exploring a deal in light of the interest in Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea and Napoli.

However, Man Utd will likely face a similar hurdle as Leipzig. Southampton are unwilling to sell this month and have slapped a price tag in excess of €60 million on the teenager's head.

Fortunately for everyone except the player and his club, the Saints look almost guaranteed to suffer relegation from the Premier League this season, which is expected to drive down Dibling's price and also make him more likely to move.

Therefore, a transfer in the summer is a much more realistic scenario. In addition to Dibling, it is claimed that Man Utd also hold an interest in Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume. FootballTransfer previously revealed that he is also on the radar of Arsenal.
