Gyokeres SPEEDS UP transfer with radical decision
Viktor Gyokeres is ready to push to leaving Sporting CP in the January transfer window, with numerous clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all interested in the striker.
Gyokeres has been one of the players of the season in the first half of the season in Europe, lighting Sporting up by scoring 27 goals in as many matches. He also has six assists to his credit.
Having been coveted by Arsenal and Chelsea in the summer of 2024, the interest of these two Premier League giants persists, while Ruben Amorim’s move from Lisbon to become head coach at Manchester United has further ignited the race, with claims that the Sweden international could join his former mentor at Old Trafford.

Previously, Gyokeres had indicated that he was prepared to stay with Sporting until the end of the season, yet his stance appears to have shifted in recent times.
According to El Nacional, he is now prepared to push for an immediate transfer.
“Gyokeres doesn’t want to wait for a move any longer,” it claims. “According to several sources close to the operation, Gyokeres has opted to take the step and speed up his departure from Sporting.”
Sporting have struggled for form since Amorim's departure, with fans growing frustrated at the team, leading to Gyokeres' angrily criticising their actions. These actions fuelled transfer rumours and this desire to depart in January could be the result.

Viktor Gyokeres: Man Utd accelerate for deal
It claims that Man Utd have stepped up their interest in Gyokeres and Amorim is “convinced” the Swede has the quality to fire the Red Devils back up the table.
Amorim is said to value the player’s ability to feature in different roles across the attack and sees him as the “ideal” addition to his squad.
Any deal, though, may hinge on Man Utd’s ability to sell players. The Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) regulations will need to be satisfied, which means that the likes of Antony and Marcus Rashford may need to depart before a move for Gyokeres can be completed.
Potential competition comes from Arsenal, who have long admired the player and head into January seeking an additional centre-forward. PSG, meanwhile, have reportedly prepared a €100m bid to match the player’s release clause, although there is uncertainty as to whether head coach Luis Enrique really wants him.
Man Utd, with Amorim at their head, seem well placed to land Gyokeres in what would be the first significant blow in their revival.
