Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign St Johnstone wonderkid Callan Hamill this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side will pay a transfer fee in excess of €100,000 to purchase the 15-year-old and he will formally link up with his new team-mates on 1 July.

Hamill turned down the chance to join both Celtic and Rangers last summer, and he is now expected to join Arsenal later this year, according to The Athletic.

The Scotland youth international is capable of playing as a defender or as a central midfielder, and he has reportedly travelled down to train with Arsenal’s U18 side several times over the past year.

Hamill has been a regular in St Johnstone’s U18 team so far this season and his imminent arrival at Arsenal follows the departure of Ayden Heaven to Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Arsenal’s summer transfer plans

Arsenal are expected to be extremely busy during the 2025 summer transfer window and Hamill is therefore unlikely to be the only new addition.

Arteta’s side failed with an ambitious late January bid for Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, following Gabriel Jesus’ ACL injury, and they are expected to rekindle their interest in the England international this summer.

However, FootballTransfers understands that RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko remains Arsenal’s priority centre forward target, while Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres are under consideration too.

The Gunners are also set to pursue a deal for Athletic Club winger Nico Williams after failing to finalise an agreement last summer, although they will face significant competition from both Barcelona and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi is expected to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in July, with a deal for the 26-year-old on the verge of being completed.

However, Thomas Partey and Jorginho are among a host of stars set to leave Arsenal later this year.
