Arsenal have reportedly decided to pursue a surprise summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, despite the plethora of left-backs already at the club.

Ait-Nouri has less than 18 months remaining on his current contract at Wolves and he has been tipped to leave Molineux this summer after interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old amid their search for a long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson, although Milos Kerkez and Lewis Hall are also being pursued by Arne Slot’s side.

In addition, Arsenal have now joined the race for Ait-Nouri’s signature ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.

The Algeria international will reportedly be available for a fee of €60 million this summer and Arsenal are set to battle AC Milan in their bid to complete a deal ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Milan have identified Ait-Nouri as a key target amid their search for a new left-back following reports that Theo Hernandez will leave the club this year after contract extension talks stalled.

Arsenal pursue summer deal for Rayan Ait-Nouri

Arsenal’s reported interest in Ait-Nouri comes as a major shock given the current options already at Mikel Arteta’s disposal.

Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly are already in competition over the left-back berth at the Emirates Stadium, while Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu are also options for the Gunners.

Ait-Nouri has scored four goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at a career high of €41.2m.

In addition to Ait-Nouri, Arsenal are also hoping to finalise agreements to sign Joan Garcia, Martin Zubimendi, Nico Williams and Benjamin Sesko this summer.
