Casemiro and five forgotten stars who could still LEAVE their clubs
The January transfer window may have closed across the major European leagues but there are still opportunities for some players to find moves away in the coming days.
Leagues such as the Super Lig in Turkey and the MLS in the United States are still able to sign players even with the window closed for teams in divisions such as the Premier League.
Some fringe players could be allowed to leave for the right price and FootballTransfers explores five top stars who could still find a new club this month.

Casemiro (Man Utd)
Manchester United are still aiming to revamp their squad under Ruben Amorim and raise funds by selling high-earning stars who have underperformed this season.
One player who could still depart is Casemiro, having played just 18 minutes since the start of 2025 as a substitute in the Europa League after failing to secure a move to the Saudi Pro League in January.
With no long-term future at Old Trafford, Casemiro has been linked with a move to Turkey before their window closes on February 12th.
Kieran Trippier (Newcastle)
Newcastle are reluctant to see more first team players leave after selling Lloyd Kelly and Miguel Almiron in January without replacing the pair, however the club’s battle with PSR could see offers considered for Kieran Trippier.
Trippier is in the final year of his contract at St James’ Park and has lost his place in the starting line up to Tino Livramento, leaving the 34-year-old frustrated with his game time.
Galatasaray are believed to be interested in Trippier and could test Newcastle’s resolve in the coming days, although Eddie Howe is unlikely to sanction his vice-captain’s exit.
Ansu Fati (Barcelona)
Once considered among the brightest wonderkids in world football, Ansu Fati’s injury struggles across his short career have led to the 22-year-old falling out of favour at Barcelona. The winger has played just 125 minutes in La Liga this season and Barca are keen to get his wages off the books as they continue to face financial struggles with La Liga.
Fati is set to be left out of Barcelona’s squad for the second half of the season and a move to Turkey may be the only opportunity for the Spaniard to allow his career from stagnating further.
Datro David Fofana (Chelsea)
You would be forgiven for having forgotten about Datro David Fofana but the striker was recalled by Chelsea in the dying moments of the January transfer window after an unsuccessful loan in Turkey at Goztepe.
Fofana has made just four first team appearances for Chelsea since joining the club in January 2023 and has lack of gametime has seen the Blues struggle to generate interest in him.
The 22-year-old is believed to have suffered a serious knee injury, which is why he was recalled, however there could still be an opportunity for him to leave to the MLS if he recovers well, with their window open until late April.
Sergio Reguilon (Tottenham)
Sergio Reguilon had seen a brief resurgence in his Tottenham career in recent times due to the Premier League outfit having a huge injury crisis in recent months.
The left-back was deemed to have no future at Tottenham after spending last season on loan at Manchester United and Brentford but he has featured in four games across the last few weeks.
However, the Spaniard is now back to being a fringe player and could be allowed to leave, with Galatasaray and Besiktas believed to be actively pursuing a deal.
