The Blues have frequently raided Brighton since the arrival of Clearlake Capital in 2022, with Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella and manager Graham Potter among the stars to have swapped the AMEX Stadium for Stamford Bridge over the past few years.

Chelsea remain determined to bolster their first-team squad following a woeful run of form and they have been linked with five Brighton players over the past few weeks.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side ran out 3-0 winners over Chelsea on Friday night, while they also emerged 2-1 victors in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend.

Chelsea want five Brighton players

Following those back-to-back defeats against the Seagulls, Chelsea have identified Kaoru Mitoma as a key transfer target, according to Fichajes, and they are reportedly willing to spend €90m on the Japan international.

Mitoma scored in both of Brighton’s recent wins over the Blues, including a sublime opening goal in the Premier League fixture.

In addition, Chelsea launched January enquiries for Carlos Baleba and Georginio Rutter, as per Simon Phillips, with the former priced at €120m and the latter expected to cost a minimum of €50m.

Facundo Buonanotte, currently on loan at Leicester City, has recently been tipped to secure a shock €45m move to Chelsea too, while Valentin Barco could also make a switch to west London.

The Argentina wonderkid secured a loan move to BlueCo-owned Strasbourg during the January transfer window and the deal will become permanent for €10m this summer.

If he impresses in Ligue 1, then Chelsea could decide to bring him to Stamford Bridge as competition for the aforementioned Cucurella.

The Blues have also been linked with a number of other stars across Europe, but they have seemingly set their sights on signing at least one Brighton player this summer, with Mitoma, Baleba, Rutter, Buonanotte and Barco all on their radar.
