Chelsea have officially completed a deal for Kazakhstan wonderkid Dastan Satpayev for a reported transfer fee of €4 million.
The 16-year-old spent time on trial at Cobham in late 2024 and Chelsea have decided to sign him on a permanent deal, although he will remain with FC Kairat until the summer of 2026 - after his 18th birthday.
Satpaev joined FC Kairat at the age of eight and he became the youngest player in the club’s history to make a first-team appearance when he made his senior debut in May 2024.
Satpaev has scored 27 goals in 28 games for Kairat’s U18 side, while the Kazakhstan U17 international netted once and provided one assist in four UEFA Youth League qualification matches at the start of this season.

Satpaev joins Chelsea
Satpaev’s current club, FC Kairat, confirmed his imminent move to Chelsea with a post on Instagram that read: “Dastan Satpaev will continue his career at Chelsea.
“Almaty's Kairat and London's Chelsea have reached an agreement on the transfer of the 16-year-old striker.

“In the summer of 2026, after reaching the age of majority, he will officially join the English club. Until that time, Satpayev will continue to play for Kairat.
“Congratulations to Dastan on this important step in his career! We are proud of his achievements and are confident that new heights await him!”
Satpaev will become the latest wonderkid to join Chelsea under the Clearlake Capital ownership, with the Blues aiming to become a dominant force in European football over the next decade by scouting the best young talent across world football.
Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will both arrive at the club this summer, when they turn 18, while the likes of Andrey Santos, Marc Guiu, Aaron Anselmino and Romeo Lavia have also joined the Stamford Bridge outfit over the past two-and-a-half years.
