Chelsea are about to make a HUGE Marc Guehi mistake

Chelsea’s search for a centre-back has seen them turn towards Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, with the Blues said to be determined to sign the England international.
Guehi is set to be one of the main talking points in the summer transfer window, with Tottenham and Crystal Palace both interested in the 24-year-old.
FABRIZIO ROMANO TRANSFER UPDATE: Osimhen RELEASE CLAUSE, Huijsen BOMBSHELL, Darwin Nunez TRUTH
Signing the centre-back promises to be an expensive operation. Spurs had an offer of €80 million (£70m) knocked back in the final days of the winter transfer window rejected, and Palace will hope to sell for around that figure in the summer, despite the defender having only a year left to run on his contract.
Chelsea, though, must be careful. The Blues have miscast countless central defenders during the BlueCo era and Guehi threatens to be another expensive error for Todd Boehly & Co.

Marc Guehi: An expensive risk for Chelsea
Guehi will not come cheap. FootballTransfers’ unique algorithm, which calculates valuations based on hundreds of in-game statistics as well as other factors, such as contract length, suggests that he is worth €47.9m.
This figure is well below the bid that Palace have already knocked back.
On top of this, Guehi simply isn’t suited to Enzo Maresca side, according to data analytics firm SciSports.
Chelsea are given a Club Fit score of just 58 by the experts. This figure is reached considering a variety of factors, including potential playing time, playing style, formation and development opportunities.

Other transfer possibilities
This certainly does not mean that Guehi is not cut out for top-level football, but it does suggest that he and the Blues are not a marriage made in heaven.
Instead, there are other major clubs that are better placed to get more from him.
Newcastle (75), Liverpool (70) and Tottenham (69) are three Premier League giants who all score significantly better than Chelsea.
Guehi’s best option, though, is a move to Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s side get a Club Fit score of 79.
The centre-back would benefit from excellent development opportunities in Spain while also getting a good amount of playing time in a formation and style that best suits him.
The best thing for Guehi seems to avoid a return to Chelsea, who in turn would avoid the threat of another big-money transfer flop by simply forgetting the Crystal Palace star.
