Chelsea will hold talks with the agent of River Plate youngster Ian Subiabre next week, according to a report.

Despite the club's lack of success since the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital takeover, Chelsea continue to double down on their transfer policy of signing young players.

Last week, it was revealed that Chelsea were in talks with 19-year-old Wolfsburg midfielder Kofi Amoako over a summer move despite the wealth of options already at the club and currently out on loan.

The Blues are also looking to further bolster their attacking department in the next window and are looking to sign a left-winger following Mykhailo Mudryk's provisional doping ban and his general lack of impact since joining in 2023.

To that end, a host of high-profile options such as Alejandro Garnacho, Jamie Gittens and Karim Adeyemi have been linked. However, it seems that Chelsea also have a wildcard option in mind.

Chelsea in talks with Subiabre

According to journalists Uriel Iugt and Ben Jacobs, the agent of River Plate attacker Ian Subiabre will meet with one of - or potentially both - of Chelsea's sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart in London next week.

It is claimed that the Blues have been keeping a close eye on his development and have been left particularly impressed with his performances for Argentina at the recent U20 South American Championship in which his country finished as runners-up.

Iugt, however, also states that Chelsea are far from the only club to have taken an interest in the 18-year-old winger, though he does not name his other suitors.

Subiabre has to date made four senior appearances for River Plate. He was an unused substitute in his side's clash with San Martin at the weekend after returning from international duty.
