Moises Caicedo has reportedly urged Chelsea to complete a deal for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez this summer.
The Ecuador midfielder is eager to play with his international team-mate at club level and he is pushing Chelsea to submit an offer ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blues recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace in January, but they have been widely tipped to purchase a new centre-back in 2025 as they look to offload Axel Disasi on a permanent deal.

Marc Guehi is one of the club’s key targets, but Chelsea are also interested in Ordonez and Caicedo is aiming to convince Enzo Maresca’s side to finalise a deal for the 20-year-old, according to TBR Football.
The Chelsea midfielder reportedly believes that Ordonez would excel in the Premier League and he is encouraging his current club to seriously consider a move this summer.
However, the west London club will face significant competition for Ordonez as he is also being chased by the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

The Ecuador star has made 63 first-team appearances for Club Brugge since his move from Independiente del Valle and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €22.4 million.
Ordonez has still three-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at Club Brugge, but he could be set to secure a big-money move to the Premier League this summer.
Chelsea to sign a new centre-back this summer
Chelsea currently have a plethora of defensive options in their senior squad, although they are looking to sign reinforcements this summer.
Tosin Adarabioyo, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Aaron Anselmino, Josh Acheampong and the aforementioned Chalobah are all competing for a starting centre-back berth at Stamford Bridge, but Maresca isn’t satisfied with his current set of options.
In addition to Guehi and Ordonez, Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Dean Huijsen following his immense start to life at Bournemouth.
