Chelsea quoted €80m price tag for exciting Mudryk replacement
Chelsea will have to pay at least €80 million to sign Jamie Gittens this summer, according to German media.
The Blues remain in the market for a new left winger after failing to land priority target Alejandro Garnacho in January. Talks over the Man Utd star started even before the window opened but Chelsea ultimately baulked at his €70 million valuation.
Planning for the summer is already in full swing and the club's recruitment department has once again identified the left side of the attack as an area that needs to be bolstered especially amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Ukraine international has been provisionally suspended by the FA for allegedly failing a drug test in late 2024. Club and player are still awaiting the results of his B Sample. If found guilty, Mudryk could be hit with a lengthy ban, essentially ending a Chelsea career that never really got off the ground in the first place.
With this in mind, Chelsea are looking at a host of left-wing options for the summer. Interest in Garnacho and summer target Nico Williams remains, while Borussia Dortmund wingers Karim Adeyemi and Jamie Gittens are also on their shortlist.
Chelsea quoted hefty Gittens price
The latter, in particular, is an exciting name for the Blues as Gittens would count as a homegrown. The Englishman has enjoyed a massively improved season at Dortmund despite the club's struggles.
Though still a bit inconsistent, Gittens has established himself as a real difference-maker and the Black and Yellow slapped a whopping €100m price tag on his head to nip any potential January interest in the bud.
However, it seems that Gittens won't really be significantly cheaper in the summer. At least that is according to BILD, which claims that it would require a fee of at least €80m to get Dortmund to sell.

This is essentially Jadon Sancho money for a player who is not as developed as Sancho was when he made the move to Man Utd and still feels massively inflated despite the €20m decrease.
It has previously been reported that Gittens will look to leave Dortmund if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and the knowledge that the player no longer wants to be at the club will surely force the Bundesliga side to eventually lower their demands.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old winger.
