Cole Palmer goes EIGHTEEN games without an assist

Cole Palmer’s dreadful run of form for Chelsea can be summed up by one shocking statistic - he has no assists for almost FOUR months.

The last time Palmer created a goal for Chelsea was on December 1 when he got an assist in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Since then he has played 18 games in all competitions for the Blues without an assist.

In addition to this, Palmer has actually gone 10 games without a goal for Chelsea in all competitions.

The last time he had a goal contribution of any kind was on January 14 in a 2-2 Premier League draw with Bournemouth.

Palmer’s plummeting form has come as a massive surprise as he was one of the best performing players in all of Europe in 2024.

The attacking midfielder also enjoyed a fantastic start to the current season with 11 goals and six assists in his first 15 Premier League games leading Chelsea to a surprise title challenge.

Palmer’s dismal 2025 has coincided with Chelsea falling away from the top of the league.

Interest in Cole Palmer

Palmer was linked with a move to a number of big clubs before Christmas and it has been suggested this may have unsettled him.

According to El Nacional, PSG have been putting together a €200 million bid that they are ready to present to Chelsea at the end of the season.

This is the price tag that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly slapped around Palmer’s head in an attempt to ward off interest from Real Madrid.

There have been reports that Madrid want to make Palmer their next Galactico signing in 2025.

The reports in Spain state that Madrid are prepared to pay €150m in order to sign Palmer.

According to the Spanish media, Chelsea have no intention to sell Palmer and are demanding €200m from the Champions League winners in order to even consider a sale. That would make Palmer Chelsea's record sale.

The 22-year-old left Man City for Chelsea for €47m in the summer of 2023 and he has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since his move to Stamford Bridge.

Palmer started his Chelsea career in sensational form and he had a brilliant 27 goals and 15 assists in the 2023-24 season.

This season, after a great start, Palmer’s form has dropped off badly.

He has been capped 11 times by England, scoring two goals.

Palmer scored England’s equaliser in the Euro 2024 final but Spain went on to win 2-1.
