Tottenham Hotspur are set to continue their aggressive push for young talent in the summer transfer window, with Southampton’s Tyler Dibling (18) and Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton (21) emerging as key targets.

FootballTransfers has been informed by sources that internal discussions have already taken place, and the club is expected to push to secure both players as part of their long-term vision.

Securing these players is likely to prove tricky.

Dibling has quickly emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League thanks to his technical ease. Quite what Southampton want in terms of a transfer fee is unclear, yet given the calibre and volume of clubs following the teenager, it is sure to be an extravagant figure.

Dibling has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €30.2 million, having shone in the Premier League so far this season.

Wharton, who has already won one England cap, is likely to fall into a similar category.

Signed for Crystal Palace in January 2024 for €21.1m, his ETV has climbed to €45.7m and is one of the Premier League’s most coveted midfield stars.

Tottenham target young team

Spurs have made it clear that youth development is at the heart of their project under Ange Postecoglou, and their current squad already reflects that philosophy.

Mikey Moore, at just 17, became the club’s youngest-ever Premier League debutant in May 2024 and has since impressed in both domestic and European fixtures.

Meanwhile, Archie Gray (18) and Lucas Bergvall (19) have added energy and technical quality to the midfield, offering Postecoglou exciting long-term options.

In attack, Tottenham have also shown faith in young prospects.

Wilson Odobert (20) is growing into a dynamic winger capable of making an impact, while Dane Scarlett (20) continues to push for more first-team minutes.

Mathys Tel (19), who arrived on loan from Bayern Munich in January, made his debut in Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, showing glimpses of his immense potential despite Spurs falling to a 4-0 defeat.

With a young core already in place, adding Dibling and Wharton would only strengthen Tottenham’s long-term ambitions. If their summer business goes as planned, Spurs could be building a squad capable of competing at the highest level for years to come.
