Man Utd line up Amorim replacement as top boss prepares SENSATIONAL return

Manchester United are already preparing to part company with Ruben Amorim and have lined up a massive name to replace the Portuguese.
United are in the midst of a nightmare campaign that sees them 15th in the Premier League table. The Red Devils were close to another disaster on Saturday, with Rio Ferdinand labelling the performance of the team “unforgivable” before they fought back to secure a 2-2 draw with Everton.

With Amorim struggling to turn the fortunes of the team around, Man Utd have another top coach in their sights for the 2025/26 season.
Former Barcelona head coach Xavi has been lined up to take over from Amorim, with the Spaniard having been top of Man Utd’s shortlist to replace Erik ten Hag when he was sacked in October, according to Relevo.
Xavi declined the chance to take over the Red Devils in October because he felt that Ruud van Nistelrooy would be given until the end of the season, at which point he would assess his options.

Now Man Utd could change coach once again in the summer, with Amorim already said to be walking a tightrope at Old Trafford.
Xavi has been on a sabbatical but is eager to take on a competitive project in the long term and he has “not ruled out” a move to Man Utd should the job become available again.
Man Utd: Xavi’s biggest test yet
Xavi started his coaching career at Al-Sadd, where he worked from 2019-21 before moving immediately to Barcelona, where he made his legend as a player.
Working under significant financial constraints, he won the LaLiga title in 2022/23 before quitting at the end of last season.
The Man Utd job promises to be one of the most testing in football for the next couple of years, with the expectation of a rapid improvement on one hand but significant spending constraints and a limited current squad on the other.
