Real Betis are keen to sign Antony permanently from Manchester United next summer.

The club's president, Ramon Alcorcon, says he is very charmed by the Brazilian's qualities. Antony will play the rest of the season on loan for the Seville club.

"The other day, the CEO of United called me. We sent them all the moves and details of the player throughout the week so that they can see that we are looking after their asset," Alarcon told Cadena SER .

“There is very good chemistry with Manchester and with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”

Antony's start to life at Real Betis has been excellent. He was named Man of the Match in each of his two appearances and scored his first goal against Celta Vigo in a 3-2 loss at the weekend.

It was the Brazilian's first league goal since April 2024 and only his second since April 2023, illustrating just how dire his time at Man Utd was.

Antony to leave Man Utd in the summer?

Antony was acquired by the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer of 2022 for €95 million but was never able to convince at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old played 96 matches, in which he scored 12 times and provided five assists. His contract runs until the summer of 2027.

Unsurprisingly, the club wanted to get rid of him in January and Antony also wanted to make a transfer. He said he had several options but chose Betis. So far, that has proven to be an excellent choice.

However, the finances of a potential deal could stand in the way of a permanent move. The forward reportedly earns around £200,000 in Manchester and would command a likely not-insignificant transfer fee.

Betis have agreed to shoulder the majority of his salary - at least 84 per cent plus bonuses - for the duration of his loan, but he would have to make concessions for the club to be able to afford him permanently.
