One of Geovany Quenda's former youth coaches would not be surprised to see the Sporting CP star sign for Manchester United.
The versatile wide player burst onto the scene in Lisbon this season after being given his debut by Ruben Amorim. Such has been Quenda's impact that he already earned a spot in Portugal's senior national team earlier in the season despite being just 17.
Capable of playing on either wing, Quenda featured primarily as a right wing-back under Amorim before he departed for Man Utd. The Red Devils were credited with an interest in the teenager even before his coach moved to Old Trafford and the speculation has only picked up since.

Indeed, at the end of January, A Bola dropped a bombshell report claiming that Man Utd had already 'snapped up' Quenda for the summer in a €60 million deal.
Shortly thereafter, The Athletic confirmed that Man Utd were exploring a transfer, although the sensationalist reporting was toned down and it was claimed that no formal offer had yet been made and that Quenda, who turns 18 in April and has a €100m release clause, would likely only cost around €40m.

Quenda ready for Man Utd
In anticipation of this supposedly inevitable transfer, A Bola has spoken to Bernardo Bruschy, one of Quenda's former youth coaches, and he insists that it would not be a surprise to see the precocious youngster playing for one of the world's biggest clubs.
“Seeing his name being associated with clubs of the biggest size in Europe surprises me just because it is so early, I am not surprised if he gets there,” Bruschy said.

“Sometimes we forget that Quenda is only 17 years old. His maturity, his quality and the performance he can already give to the team, even though he is so young, are something out of the ordinary.
“And that makes us forget his age, but in fact, he is only 17 years old and has a lot to improve and grow. But he is already a player who is at a state of maturity far ahead of what is normal for his age.”
