Leroy Sane to Arsenal: Contract offer ready for Mikel Arteta reunion

Arsenal are ready to offer Leroy Sane a contract but insist that the Bayern Munich star must lower his wage demands, according to a report.
The Germany international appears to be coming to the end of his time at Bayern. Since joining from Man City in 2020, Sane has struggled to show the form that once earned him a sparkling reputation around Europe.

Although Sane has been far from a flop, he has never managed to consistently perform to the level that he is capable of. Moreover, injury problems have continuously plagued him, further diminishing his stocks.
The 29-year-old is one of the top earners at Bayern, reportedly making €20 million per season, so the club are unsurprisingly keen to change something. He is out of contract in the summer and there is an openness to keep Sane around but only on a drastically reduced wage.
Sane, too, is generally keen to stay in Munich, but it increasingly looks as though he is not willing to make drastic concessions. Bayern director Max Eberl has announced that talks over a deal will take place before the end of the season, but no formal offer has as yet been made.

Arsenal ready to pounce on Sane opportunity
Arsenal have been monitoring the situation with a watchful gaze as they have a long-standing interest in the German. FootballTransfers exclusively reported last summer that Sane was one of the names under consideration in North London should they fail to land their top targets.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has never made a secret of the fact that he still has an excellent relationship with Sane from their shared Man City days. The Spaniard has also shown a willingness to sign experienced players if they are available on favourable deals.

Sane is viewed as a potentially intriguing opportunity by Arsenal and CaughtOffside claims that the Premier League side are ready to offer the winger a contract.
However, like Bayern, Arsenal feel that Sane has not done enough in recent seasons to justify his huge wage and want him to lower his demands before proceeding with formal negotiations.
