Arsenal's SHOCK transfer that would prove Arteta has learned NOTHING from past failures

Arsenal could, once again, turn to a Premier League rival to bolster their attack in a transfer that would raise questions about whether Mikel Arteta has learned from past mistakes.
The Gunners are desperate to add to their frontline this summer after seeing their title bid derailed following injuries to a number of their attacking core such as Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

However, even prior to their injury crisis, doubts had already begun to emerge over the reliability of their attackers, with top scorer Havertz providing nine goals in 21 games prior to his season-ending injury.
While the German international has proven somewhat productive since his €75 million transfer from Chelsea in 2023, Havertz has left much to be desired as a focal point compared to the leading marksmen at rival clubs.
Arteta raised eyebrows with his purchase of Havertz, having splashed out a massive fee for the 25-year-old in spite of his inconsistent three years at Chelsea instead of focusing resources on a more proven and natural goalscorer.
And, if reports from Spain are to be believed, Arsenal may be repeating their trend of turning to flawed outcasts from their rivals instead of going for the top players on the market.

Arsenal consider shock Diaz transfer from Liverpool
According to Fichajes, Arsenal have ‘set their sights’ on Liverpool’s Luis Diaz in order to provide depth and Premier League experience on both flanks.
Diaz has had a patchy season for Liverpool, scoring nine goals by mid November, however the 28-year-old has netted just four times since.
With the Colombian’s contract entering its final two years, Liverpool are open to Diaz’s departure although it will not come cheap, particularly with Barcelona also interested.

Should Arsenal be able to secure Diaz on a cut-price deal then it perhaps could prove a shrewd depth signing but, with Liverpool likely to demand a similar amount to Nico Williams’ €60m release clause, the Gunners would be better investing in a younger talent with a higher ceiling like the Athletic Bilbao star.
Otherwise Arteta could find himself rueing the inconsistencies of from relying on another Premier League-based star to end Arsenal’s long wait for a title at a time when the club are desperate to take the next step up among Europe’s elite.
