Arsenal identify surprise Serie A replacement for Gabriel

Arsenal have identified Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka as a centre-back target, according to Italian media.
The Ivorian joined the Serie A giants in the summer of 2023 after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer. Ndicka had established himself as one of the Bundesliga's most promising centre-backs, but he did not immediately manage to impress in Italy.

It took a while for the 25-year-old to settle in his new surroundings, but he has become increasingly reliable for the Giallorossi over the past year or so. Ndicka, who is very comfortable on the ball, is now an undisputed starter in Serie A.
Indeed, his form is said to have attracted the attention of other clubs, and a summer transfer can't be ruled out. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, his €4.3 million annual salary weighs heavily on Roma's bank account and they may be forced to sell if they fail to qualify for Europe.
Results have massively improved since Claudio Ranieri returned for his third stint in charge, but the iconic club still only find themselves languishing seventh in the Serie A table.

Arsenal interested in Ndicka
The above-mentioned outlet states that Ndicka's potential availability has attracted the attention of clubs around Europe, especially in England. The Ivorian was already linked with a Premier League switch back in his Frankfurt days.
It is claimed that Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Real Madrid have all taken a liking to the 25-year-old. The interest from Arsenal is intriguing, considering that they may have to look for a new centre-back this summer.
Gabriel Magalhaes is expected to field concrete interest from Saudi Arabia after yet another impressive season for the Gunners. The North London club are unwilling to entertain offers below €100 million, but that is unlikely to deter his Saudi suitors.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr side are the club named with the most concrete interest in Gabriel and they are planning to test Arsenal's resolve with a bid this summer.
