Arsenal transfer to be completed 'THIS WEEK' as 'everything agreed'

Jorginho's pre-contract signing with Flamengo could be formally completed this week, according to Brazilian media.
The saga surrounding the Arsenal midfielder looks to be drawing to a close at last. Since January, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding Jorginho due to his expiring contract at the Emirates.
The 33-year-old has had a peripheral role under Mikel Arteta this season and is set for a new chapter in his career starting in the summer. Brazilian giants Flamengo have been courting him since the winter, but there has been plenty of uncertainty surrounding a potential deal.

The Rio de Janeiro-based side had initially wanted to sign him already in the winter, but Arsenal refused to play along and sanction a transfer. Flamengo shifted the conversation to a free transfer in the summer, yet this too proved to be anything but straightforward.
Last week, Brazilian media claimed that Jorginho, despite being keen on the move, had been forced to reconsider due to 'family pressure.' It was asserted that his English wife would prefer for the Italy international to remain in Europe.

Jorginho agreement reached
However, Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande now reports that Jorginho's move to Flamengo has not been derailed. On the contrary, he claims that his pre-contract could be formally signed as early as this week.
Everything has been agreed and Jorginho is expected to pen a three-year deal. He would then link up with his new club before the start of the Club World Cup in the summer.

As for Arsenal, Sky Germany has claimed that Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is viewed as a potential replacement for the former Chelsea man. FootballTransfers, however, understands that Arsenal have yet to formally reignite their interest in Kimmich.
Arteta and company considered the German last year but ultimately decided against making a move. The Gunners are in advanced talks to sign Martin Zubimendi and Sverre Nypan, so there is a feeling that they will be well-stocked in midfield despite Jorginho's inevitable departure.
