Kimmich contract offer CONFIRMED: Germany star ‘tempted’

Joshua Kimmich is set to become one of the most eligible free agents at the end of the season when his contract with Bayern Munich expires.
Together with Liverpool trio Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, Kimmich promises to be one of most-coveted players available at the end of June, and indeed two offers have already arrived for the Germany international.

Following the news that no new deal is forthcoming for the player, the 30-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €34.9 million, has already been contacted by clubs.
“Kimmich has had two offers from abroad on the table for the past two weeks,” German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg told Sport1. “He's considering them and he has informed director Max Eberl about it.
“Arsenal and PSG are very concretely interested and, to be honest, it's perfectly reasonable for Kimmich to be tempted by Arsenal.”

Kimmich at the heart of a political battle at Bayern
Kimmich's situation, though, is a confusing one. Although it has been claimed that Bayern have withdrawn their offer, Plettenberg has indicated that the situation is not so straightforward and the player’s continuation at the Allianz Arena is not ruled out as a political battle rages behind the scenes.
“Back in the day, contract extensions were a matter between two parties, the player and Bayern. Today, it involves the player, the Eberl-Freund camp and the supervisory board stacked with economists and controlled by Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge,” Plettenberg explained.
“The weekend Kimmich got injured [Feb 23 v Frankfurt], the board informed him that there was a formal contract offer until 2028 with a pre-tax salary of €20m-€22m. The board told him: 'You have this weekend to decide.' Then he got injured, the deadline passed, the board withdrew the offer.
“From the point of view of Eberl and Freund, there is no withdrawn offer! The contract is still on the table. It's not a matter of Bayern playing hardball, they are indecisive in my opinion. If they were playing hardball, they would have told him: 'You either extend or you leave at the end of the season.' An extension is still possible, so it's really neither one thing nor the other.
“What's important to note is that Kimmich was on the verge of crossing the finish line. There was a complete agreement with Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund, Kimmich was sure that he wanted to stay. But then, to put it diplomatically, someone put a spoke in the wheel of Eberl and Freund.
“It's not really about Kimmich at this point. It's politics being played out at his expense between the protagonists I just mentioned. Now, it is entirely possible that Kimmich won't extend.”
Arsenal could be huge benefactors from this brewing crisis at Bayern.
