Chelsea risk losing 'best player in the world' despite Romano CONFIRMATION

Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has reportedly attracted interest from a number of elite European clubs amid his impressive recent form for Strasbourg.
The 20-year-old joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama back in January 2023, but he is yet to make his competitive debut for the club and he has spent the past 18 months on loan at BlueCo-owned Strasbourg.

Santos has established himself as one of Europe’s best midfielders under Liam Rosenior so far this season, and he has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions this term.
Furthermore, he was recently dubbed “the best player in the world” by Strasbourg team-mate, and former Chelsea winger, Diego Moreira.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Santos will return to Chelsea this summer, in order to play a key role in the first-team next season, although his situation is being monitored by several top clubs.
That is according to Sport Mediaset, who claim that AC Milan, AS Monaco, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing Santos on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.

What has Andrey Santos said about Chelsea?
Although Chelsea are reportedly determined to include Santos in their senior squad for next season, the Brazilian has admitted that his future hasn’t yet been decided.
He recently told ESPN: “A lot of people send me news [about Chelsea], but I don’t think there’s anything concrete like that.
“No one has come to me directly and spoken to me. It’s in Chelsea’s hands, it’s in my agents’ hands, it's in my hands. At the moment I’m focused on these last few games, which are very important for Strasbourg. When the season ends, we’ll see what happens, everyone will sit down and talk to make the best decision for both sides.”
Santos added: “Of course you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. Of course you dream of that moment, but I think the moment is to have a clear head, finish the season here to make the best choice when the season is over.”
Santos has five years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €27.1 million.
